Privacy Policy

Who we are

EEClub (Everyday English Club) is a spoken-English learning app for Hindi-speaking children aged 5–10. In this policy, "we", "us" and "EEClub" refer to the team that operates the app. "You" means the parent or legal guardian who creates the account. "Your child" means the child whose profile is used inside the app.

The short version

• Only a parent can create an EEClub account. Children do not sign up on their own.
• We collect the minimum data needed to run daily English lessons — nothing more.
• Voice recordings are used to give your child feedback and to improve the lesson your child is currently on. We do not sell them and we do not use them for advertising.
• You can ask us to delete your account, your child's profile, or specific recordings at any time.
• We do not show ads. There is no chat with strangers.

What we collect

From you (the parent)

• Your email address and password (for sign-in).
• Your name, if you provide it.

About your child

• A display name or nickname you enter.
• Age or age range, so lessons match the right level.
• Answers your child gives during the placement check-up.
• Progress signals: which days were completed, stars earned, streaks, which stories were read.

During lessons

• Short voice recordings when your child taps the microphone to speak.
• The text version of what your child said, produced by our speech-to-text step.
• Basic device information (browser, screen size) needed for the app to work.

We do not ask for your child's real name, school, home address, phone number or exact location.

How we use voice recordings

Voice recordings are used only to:

• Convert speech to text so Mithu can respond.
• Give your child kind, specific feedback on pronunciation and sentences.
• Track which sounds and words your child is getting comfortable with, so lessons adapt.

Recordings are processed by our AI providers listed below. We do not sell recordings, we do not share them with advertisers, and we do not use them to identify your child outside of EEClub.

AI processing

EEClub uses AI models to make Mithu speak, to understand your child's voice, to give feedback, and to run a safety check on inputs. Today we rely on:

• Lovable AI Gateway — for chat and feedback generation.
• Speech-to-text and text-to-speech providers routed through our backend.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security commitments. They are not permitted to use your child's data to train general-purpose models.

Child safety

• Every voice or text input from a child passes through an AI safety check before Mithu replies.
• Mithu is instructed never to ask for personal information.
• There are no open chats, no user-to-user messaging, no comments and no public profiles.
• There are no advertisements and no third-party trackers used for advertising.

Data retention

• Account data is kept as long as the account is active.
• Progress data (streaks, stars, completed days) is kept so your child can continue where they left off.
• Raw voice recordings are kept only as long as needed to give feedback and improve the current lesson, then deleted.
• When you delete your account, we delete personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep records to comply with law.

Your rights as a parent

You can, at any time:

• See what we hold about your child.
• Correct anything that is wrong.
• Delete your child's profile, voice recordings, or your whole account.
• Withdraw consent for continued use.
• Ask us to stop processing your child's data.

Security

Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access to production data is limited to a small number of team members and logged. We do our best, but no online service can promise perfect security — please use a strong, unique password for your account.

Children under 13

EEClub is designed for children aged roughly 5–10, and it may be used only by a child whose parent or legal guardian has created the account and given consent. See Parental Consent for what that consent covers and how to withdraw it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will notify the parent email on file. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
